KIMBERLEY Bottomley had her moment of glory when she was crowned Oswaldtwistle Carnival Princess.
The nine-year-old, from Oswaldtwistle, beat off tough competition from 25 other youngsters to take the title after a contest at Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Kimberley and recently crowned carnival queen Janet Bradshaw, 17, of Peel Park Avenue, Accrington, will lead the fun at the event on June 20.
She will keep her royal title for two years and her duties will include attending various charity fund-raising events.
The youngster, who attends St Mary's RC Primary School, Oswaldtwistle, said: "I am really excited about. I had to be interviewed and was asked what my hobbies are and where I am going on holiday.
"I was given a bunch of flowers and will be able to keep the crown for two years."
Proud mum Eileen Brogden said: "She entered the competition herself after getting a form from school. She has never won anything like this before and we are absolutely delighted."
