FRESH clues in the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who left a man for dead were thrown up in a massive police operation in Darwen town centre.
More than 100 club-goers were interviewed exactly a week after Dylan Smalley was mowed down by a car in the early hours of the morning.
Inspector Stuart Coates, of Darwen police, said: "We spoke to more than 100 people who were in and around the area at the same time of the accident.
"Although it was between 2am and 3.30am there were a lot of people about and they were very helpful and co-operative. We got a lot of helpful information and we will be following a series of new leads over the next couple of days."
Dylan was found unconscious in the street just yards from his home and police originally thought he had been assaulted.
He is in Blackburn Royal Infirmary with broken legs, pelvic injuries and a five-inch scar on his shoulder.
Police want to trace the owner of dark coloured Vauxhall Nova seen in the area shortly after the incident.
Anyone with information should contact Darwen police on 01254 701777.
