A 72-YEAR-OLD woman had her handbag stolen from a church while she was attending a Torrisholme Methodist service this week. The woman left her handbag as she went to the alter at the church on Hall Drive but when she returned it was gone.
"I'm obviously worried about this." said Rev Geoff Nadin. "I'm concerned that somebody's lost her money at the church. But I wouldn't want to sensationalise it. It might not happen again for 50 years."
Police are looking for a man who entered the church about half way through and started messing about with the books before sitting behind the woman. The theft took place in the church at about 11.30 am on Sunday morning.
