I AM writing in response to the letter of Mr D Holden (Citizen April 30).
Were his argument regarding democracy and individual rights watertight, then similar barbaric pursuits such as Badger baiting, dog fighting and cock fighting would still be legally permissible.
The majority, who oppose such activities DO understand democracy and its implications Mr Holden.
Despite the infantile behaviour of some MPs dragging out the debate to petty extremes, this bill against hunting with hounds WILL pass through, however long it takes.
Democracy is not merely a tool to permit individuals to participate in any depraved act which satisfies their desires. It is this very democracy which will ultimately see justice for the innocent victims of your activities.
Finally Mr Holden do not over estimate the support you have in this country. You are the minority and your days are numbered.
