I THINK Chris Waddle did an excellent job in the second half of the season.
The Burnley board should go back and bring him back to Burnley before somebody comes and takes the only decent players we have got at the club. Glenn Roeder should not be given any chance whatsoever to run the club. Anybody else who comes to Burnley will have no success under the current board with chairman Frank Teasdale.
The last three managers have all resigned, so that tells you something.
PETER GARRETT, Market Street, Whitworth.
AS A fan who thought Chris Waddle would do a good job as player-manager, I did not foresee he would also bring along Glenn Roeder with him.
Chris Waddle is still a gifted player but was too influenced by Mr Roeder about the quality of the players he had taken on.
If he had played the team we had since January, ie Little, Harrison and Winstanley and had kept Swan, who was at the club when he took charge, all the heartache we suffered last season would not have happened. If Mr Teasdale took the hint as well, how about it Mr T?
G McDONALD, Oswaldtwistle
CHRIS Waddle, thanks for keeping us up. You did a great job, sorry to see you go
GARETH WOODWARD, Cloister Drive, Darwen.
THANK God Chris Waddle's gone! It's quite obvious that Waddle and the rest of his coaching staff didn't have the respect of any of the players.
Thank goodness he's gone before he can get his hands on any of the takeover money. Let's get an experienced manager. But we don't want Neil Warnock who's a long ball merchant. We want to see good football and success at Turf Moor.
DEREK JONES, Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington
WADDLE'S departure shows that the board isn't committed to Burnley.
I think its about time all the lot of them went and brought Ray Ingleby in and his board and got this club sorted out because it's about time it got sorted out.
NEIL HALSTEAD, Gowfield Farm, Burnley Road, Trawden
TEASDALE, shut up, sell up preferably to one man with one club - Ingleby. Let us all enjoy our summer holidays.
DAVID BROWN, Mink Avenue, Barrowford
I FEEL that it is a disgrace that the board have done very little to try and solve Waddle's problem.
I feel that it is a shame for the club. Next season with Waddle finding his feet and buying some good new players, Burnley would have been a force.
Now we have to wait for yet another manager to come in and disrupt things again.
KEN ASHWORTH, Padiham Road, Sabden.
WHEN I heard Waddle had gone and I wasn't surprised. I found him arrogant, lacklustre and all his signings barring Andy Peyton hardly improved Burnley.
This club is too big to experiment with trainee managers. We need someone with a track record who can steer us out of this division and on to promised land. Candidates such as Brian Flynn and Stan Ternent would obviously be big crowd favourites and they have experience in this division.
Glenn Roeder should stay well away from any application forms for the job. He was the so-called knowledge and strength behind Waddle when he came and he did absolutely nothing-and made no friends on the terraces. His England commitments obviously came first and to say he's the national defensive coach, he's struggled with the Clarets defence all season.
My money's on Stan the Man and maybe promote Gordon Cowans up to his assistant.
DOUGLAS HARGREAVES, Knutsford.
