GREAT swims from Kate Ward and Khalid Jhugroo earned Tyldesley SC third spot in the City of Salford Spring Meet.
Some 51 clubs took part - but nobody could deny Kate, who won the 14-Year 100 freestyle, or Khalid, winner of the 13-Year 100 breaststroke (NQT).
Matthew Hampson secured his first NQT, slashing two seconds off his PB for fourth in the open age 400 IM.
The 200 events produced exciting swims from Sarah Wood, Khalid and Kate, each finishing second - Sarah in the individual medley, well under her PB, Khalid (PB) and Kate in the freestyle.
Sarah and Kate also finished second in their 100 butterfly events while 11-year-old Samantha Thompson was second in the 200 freestyle, reducing her PB by fully three seconds.
Thirds for Khalid (100 back and butterfly plus 200 IM, all PBs), Matthew (200 freestyle, PB), Stuart Carlisle in the 14-Year 100 backstroke, Samantha in the 100 butterfly and Sarah in the 100 breaststroke (PB).
Good swims from Stephanie Thompson, Jessica Howarth, Michelle Greensmith, Kelly Banner, Maria Hampson, Andrew Hurst, Mark Hurst and James Gendall.
SEVENTEEN-year-old Richard Hampson competed for England (North) at an International Meet in Luxembourg, finishing second in the 200 butterfly, fourth in the 100 butterfly and sixth in the 100 freestyle.
