AN ALPINE plant enthusiast hopes to join the creme de la creme of television gardening when he is filmed by the BBC as he competes in a top French flower show.
Peter Foley, of Holden Clough Nursery near Bolton-by-Bowland, will come under the spotlight on Gardeners' World, later this month.
He was filmed this week preparing for Les Journees des Plantes de Courson - the French equivalent of our Chelsea Flower Show.
The Paris event attracts hundreds of international exhibitors and Mr Foley hopes to repeat his success of last year when he won a Gold Ribbon for the best display.
He also received one of only 12 merit awards for his specialist alpine plants. Cameramen have filmed at the nursery and will accompany him to the show next week.
"The organisers of the French show put forward our names to the BBC following our success last year," said Mr Foley.
"We are thrilled to be taking part in Gardener's World and hope to repeat our success of last year."
Mr Foley will be featured on the May 22 programme at 8.30pm on BBC2, with presenter Gay Search.
