REGARDING my appeal (Letters, April 30) for the whereabouts of my pal in the services Sam Smith, whose home in Wrigley Street, Blackburn, was demolished around 1982, I would like to thank readers for the information I received.
I was contacted by Sam's old neighbours, relatives, friends, etc. by phone and letter to learn he is living in Australia.
Now, we have made contact again after about 53 years.
Most information was given by a lady who has been in contact with Sam and his Australian wife for the last 50-odd years.
Once again, thank you.
