ALLOW me to say a big "thank-you" to everyone who rang me after my appeal (LET, May 9) for suitcases and trainer shoes for the children from Chernobyl visiting East Lancashire. I never realised how generous people could be.
I was inundated with offers of suitcases and trainers and clothes were also received. A special thanks goes to the people who gave me a donation to buy new trainers and, indeed, the people who rang me to find out the sizes I required in order that they could purchase some trainers.
If I haven't managed to collect the items which you offered, then I apologise and I hope to get to you as soon as I can.
