FOUR children have been offered the chance of life following the tragic death of a Bury health club owner.

Heart valves from Mr Glynne Olive, who died on Monday (May 11) after a motorbike crash, were transplanted into young cardiac patients.

The revelation came as his girlfriend, Miss Angela Tomasiello, pictured with the tragic biker, told how Mr Olive died doing what he loved best.

"As soon as the sun came out he was out on his bike," said his fiancee of five years at their home in Bridgefield Drive, Bury.

"Glynne loved having fun and died having fun."

The 32-year-old lost control of his Honda motorbike on Sunday (May 10) as he rode with a group of fellow motorcycle enthusiasts in North Wales. After hitting a telegraph pole he was rushed to Glan Clwyd District General Hospital and underwent a nine-hour operation on a severed artery in his leg.

Transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, he died on Monday morning. His heart valves have since been used in transplant operations on four children.

Born and educated in Bolton, Mr Olive, a keen scuba diver, was co-owner of the Millennium Health and Fitness Centre in The Rock, Bury.

Along with his business partner, Mr Denis Moss, he took control of the former Trimline Health Club last July.

Being comforted by friends and family, Mr Olive's girlfriend of nearly 14-years said the couple had planned to marry next year.

Miss Tomasiello (36) who runs a hairdressing and gift shop business in Whitefield, said of Mr Olive: "He was a most wonderful, most loving and caring person.

"Glynne was a big Chubby Brown fan and was always repeating his jokes and making people laugh. Glynne was always smiling and enjoyed life."

She added: "However, it was his love of motorbikes that was his life. If there were any bike shows on he would go to them and any chance he could get he would be out riding. He always had a fascination for speed and won numerous trophies in his younger days in karting competitions."

An inquest was opened in North Wales and adjourned until a later date. His funeral will be held next Thursday (May 21) at St Margaret's Church, Prestwich.

Staff at the Millennium Health and Fitness Club closed the centre on Monday as a mark of respect.

Centre manager Mr Paddy Campbell said: "As a boss he was a very pleasant man who had everything going for him. All the staff and regular customers are saddened by this tragedy."
