THE trip of a lifetime to Hungary awaits Bury College student Emma Rabone, thanks to a Lancashire brewery.
Emma ,18, of Hawthorn Avenue, Bury, was nominated for the trip by the Mayor of Bury, Coun Roy Walker.
She is one of nine lucky local students set to jet off to the continent later this summer, courtesy of the prestigious Daniel Thwaites Travel Scholarship.
Under the supervision of leader Karen Matula, the party will fly out to Budapest in July and spend two weeks living with Hungarian families, experiencing all the fascination of a different culture - and helping with all the usual family duties!
Thwaites president Mr John Yerburgh, the great-great grandson of brewery founder Daniel Thwaites, said: "The travel scholarship has been a great success and so many youngsters have enjoyed the benefits.
"The students get an insight into another culture and hopefully a better understanding of people and life in general. They have extra responsibilities in being ambassadors for their country."
The nine ambassadors were recent guests of Daniel Thwaites, enjoying a trip including a brewery tour and a celebratory meal at the brewer's Britannia pub in Oswaldtwistle.
