A TEAM of aerospace workers have won a second transatlantic pat on the back.
Employees at British Aerospace Samlesbury won the award from Boeing for its work in setting up a transfer of rear fuselage installation work on T45 Goshawks used by the US Navy.
The latest award is for the work done in engineering preparation and the conversion of hundreds of Boeing drawings.
The work took over two and a half years from start finish.
Boeing is the main contractor to supply 187 of the aircraft to the US Navy for pilot training. The Samlesbury site has already delivered 96 rear fuselages since 1989 which were shipped to Boeing's St Louis site to be fitted with equipment such as hydraulics and flying control systems. BAe was recently awarded the contract to fit the fuselages with the equipment themselves.
