FAST growing firm Formfill is making a name for itself in computers - but knows a human face is just as important for its success!

Under the Guardian Angel scheme, the Blackburn high tech firm was 'married' to Mike Murray, the entrepreneur who founded the Cupid bridalwear business.

And the success of their partnership under the scheme which matches experienced business managers with young companies, won them an award at the scheme's annual presentation day held at Mytton Fold Farm.

Formfill, based at the Blackburn Technology Management Centre, was set up three years ago to specialise in data capture for major companies.

The firm's software helps large companies make sure information such as postcodes being put into their computer databases is correct. And the firm has recently won a clutch of orders from major companies including many of the utility groups.

After getting their venture off the ground the founders turned to the Guardian Angel scheme, run under the umbrella of the Blackburn Partnership, for further support.

"Mike has made a huge impact on our business," said director Peter Kennedy.

And Mike Murray said his involvement with Formfill had given him a great deal in return.

"It is a two way process and I have got just as much out of it as they have."

Guests at the presentation heard that the scheme has helped create and preserve more than 1,000 jobs since it was launched in 1994. It is supported by ELTEC and Blackburn City Challenge and the awards ceremony is sponsored by the Marsden Building Society.
