EIGHT regulars at the George IV pub in Burnley were all cued up for a 24-hour pool marathon to help street children in Haiti.
Inspiration for the fund-raiser came from Wayne Ingham who is getting married to fiance Justine at Edgeside Baptist Church, Rossendale.
They will be the last couple that vicar the Rev Philip Norris marries at the church before he leaves with his family to work in Haiti.
Wayne asked the landlady at the George IV, Kath Ashcroft, if they could help Rev Norris and she suggested the pool marathon.
Kath said: "Mr Norris came to support the lads and he brought along Arnold Louiden, who comes from Haiti.
"He had been living on the streets and had been in trouble with the police but now he helps to run the St Joseph's Boys' Home for street children.
"Mr Norris stayed to midnight, helped with food and washing up and was even washing glasses behind the bar.
"We also held a fancy dress night when customers dressed as sporting people or paid a forfeit and there was a collection on the bar."
The marathon raised more than £750 and Mr Norris boosted the funds even further by selling Haitian clothes and goods in the pub.
Wayne and Justine will be married in early August and Mr Norris leaves his parish later that month.
