THE first airliner of a new model powered with East Lancashire components has been delivered.

The Boeing 777-300 - the longest wide-bodied twin jet in the world - was handed over to Cathay Pacific at a ceremony in Seattle.

It is powered by two Boeing Trent 892 engines, for which the Rolls-Royce Barnoldswick plant manufactures components, including wide chord fan blades and front bearing housings.
