IT was a case of the old one-two for local cyclists at Birkenhead Park on Sunday - though in different races.
Edmund Leary of St Helens CRC won a hot juvenile event while Billinge's Dave Hitchen grabbed a superb second spot in the feature event.
Dave who rides for New Brighton got away from the bunch with a select break early in the Birkenhead Victoria Classic Criterium over 64 miles, eventually holding second place over the line. New Merseyside Division juvenile champion Edmund Leary from Rainford stamped his authority over a strong field of juveniles earlier in the morning when he outsprinted Team Brite's Richard Sutcliffe from Huddersfield.
