DISCOUNT supermarket giant Aldi is believed to be looking at a site off Chapel Brow, Leyland, next to a proposed new McDonald's drive-thru-revealed in the Citizen last week.
Councillor Tom Hanson, South Ribble Borough Council's planning committee chairman said: "We had interest from several companies but have been told that Aldi are keen to come to the area after viewing the Chapel Brow site.
"We want to see both ends of the shopping centre looking very attractive and a big name like Aldi will certainly do that."
A spokesperson from the supermarket chain said it was company policy not to talk about possible new stores.
