OVER 250 pupils from 16 primary schools were last week given a day off lessons to compete in a hockey tournament at Preston College.
Organised by students from the college's sports studies classes the kids all competed in different groups before moving in to a knock out tournament.
Each team was managed by two students from the BTEC course giving them a great chance to work in a competitive environment.
The hockey play day was the fourth to be held by Preston College who say it's a great idea to bring the students together with young pupils.
A college spokesman said: "Each year this tournament has grown and its great to see the students working closely with the school children."
Harris County Primary School, managed by students Darren Jack and Kurt Czarnota, ended the two days in triumph when they won the final.
Darren said: "All of the kids had a great time and it was fun for the students who had to work really hard to motivate the players."
