COULD you give disabled youngsters a summer of fun?
A children's charity is appealing for volunteers to escort them on day trips during their six-week holiday.
The Barnados South Ribble Families Project, based in Lostock Hall, near Preston, is set to treat some 80 disabled children. But it's struggling to find helpers to take them on trips.
Project leader Janet Phillips said: "Volunteers help the youngsters play and participate in a wide range of activities together. Although it can be hard work, it is great fun and valuable experience."
Helpers must be aged 15 or older, but don't have to commit themselves to the whole period.
"We would be delighted for people to volunteer for a week or so," she added: "They get basic training and their expenses paid."
Volunteer Val Molloy said: "When you see how much the children enjoy the schemes, it is rewarding to know you've been a part of it."
Anyone interested in joining the project should call Marion on 01772-629470.
