GOLBORNE are facing a stiff challenge for their Vimto Bolton Association crown.
Already Elton look a formidable force at the top with 104 points, one ahead of Golborne who themselves lie one point ahead of Spring View.
Atherton, however, are having a tough time. They tumbled at home to Clifton, who celebrated their first league win of the season with a 68-run win.
Atherton had got off to a decent start with pro Andy Hall posting another good score on 43. But, in a dramatic finish, the result was clinched off the last delivery as Steve Walsh was given out lbw, Atherton all out for 153.
