WELL that's it now, no more bank holidays until August - and wasn't this last weekend a miserable one? The Liverpool Show was great though - thanks for coming down if you did over the weekend - it was great to see you.
Looking forward to Wednesday June 3 because we're raising money for Give A Child A Chance and it's our annual Radiothon. It's an all day on-air auction from 7am to 7pm where you can bid for various packages that money can't buy and also you can call up and pay for a dedication. We'll also, for the first time, be broadcasting in conjunction with our sister station, Magic 1548 - giving me a chance to work with the oldies like Pete Price, Billy and Wally etc. One think I'll remember on the day - never teach your granny how to suck eggs!
No new songs from any of those three artists to review at the moment but here are the three I have picked for this week.
Neil Finn 'She Will Have Her Way'
The band Crowded House split up two years ago and since then there's been a big gap left in the art of quality song writing but now the gap has been filled with this release of the debut solo single from ex Crowded House man, Neil Finn. Very much the same style of the band - very easy listening and if you are a big fan, Neil's just finished assembling his new touring band so look out for upcoming tour dates.
Dario G 'Carnival de Paris'
The band that's named as a tribute to football manger Dario Grady - here's the follow up single to the massive 'Sunchyme'. This tune can only be described as a salsa flavoured fanfare - big football tune and generally great for mad party goers. It's an unofficial World Cup song and features live instruments that represent all of the thirty-two participating countries - well worth a purchase.
Mousse TVs Hot 'n' Juicy 'Horny'
I've been absolutely hammering this track both at my gigs and on the Half Six Mix on my show for the last couple of weeks. My favourite dance tune at the moment has been well sort after on the underground scene for ages and finally gets released on May 25. The big tune for the Summer, if you like dance music just buy it - trust me.
