EMPLOYEES took on a project with a difference to help the disabled.
Workers from the fabrications department at British Aerospace, Samlesbury, have built a basic vehicle for people with multiple sclerosis.
Student Phil Swindle, an undergraduate at Brunel University, designed the vehicle as part of his course after speaking to a lecturer who had been diagnosed with MS.
"The team liaised closely with Phil taking just days to complete the rolling chassis from the basic concept," said Andy Shorthouse, production supervisor in the fabrications department.
The next stage is to develop the vehicle to meet individual needs of sufferers.
The MS Society is BAe's chosen charity for fundraising this year.
