A TEENAGER from Blackburn who wants to help African children is raising money for a month-long trip to Kenya.
Sheffield University student Georgina Pickering,19, will fly to Nairobi with ten others in August to take part in a voluntary project organised by a Kenyan student.
Georgina, of Leamington Road, Blackburn, will work in children's homes, schools and a clinic and needs to raise £1,000 for expenses.
The group also needs £2,000 for books, toys, clothes and basic medical supplies.
"I'll be teaching English and science in primary schools and health studies to women at the clinic," said Georgina, who is studying anthropology and zoology.
"It will be very good experience for me and really satisfying to know I have helped someone who needs it."
An ex-pupil of Westholme School, Georgina hopes to work for the Red Cross after finishing her degree.
Anyone who can help Georgina with donations or sponsorship can contact her on 0114 268916 or 01254 661064.
