DEFENDING champion Kim Rostron is through to the quarter finals of the English Women's Championship at Walton Heath, Surrey.
The Clitheroe golfer faces a tricky repeat of last year's semi-final against Cheshire champion Elaine Ratcliffe.
Rostron was is splendid form in her first two knock-out matches yesterday.
First, Portis Park's Lorna Nelson was beaten four and three.
Then Rostron beat Kath Taylor of Sandfordsprings by the same score.
Rostron's eight under par total for her two matches was bettered by one stroke by today's opponent Ratcliffe, a Curtis Cup star of St George's Hill, Surrey.
The 25-year-old brushed aside last year's runner-up Kate Burton five and four in the first round and won a thriller with Surrey stalwart Jill Thornhill two and one.
