I AM accused by Duncan McVee of spreading Tory disinformation about NHS waiting lists (Letters, May 20).
I was just quoting a fact - that after one year of a Labour government waiting lists are at a record high. Can Mr McVee deny that?
When he was in opposition, Tony Blair called the 1.1 million on the waiting lists a scandal and a crisis in the NHS.
Now the waiting lists are up to 1.3 million, the Prime Minister has nothing to say on the issue.
Mr McVee should take off his socialist blinkers and realise that the Labour government has made a mess of the NHS in its first year in charge of it.
The Health Secretary, Frank Dobson, says that he has allotted £385 million this coming year to cut the waiting lists by 100,000.
Even if the waiting lists are cut, they will still be 37,000 higher than when the Tories were in power.
