THE five churches which comprise the Accrington Team Ministry, St Andrew, St Clement, St James, St Paul and St Peter, are planning their annual Processions of Witness, which will take place on Sunday, June 14.
The walks in their present form were started two years ago. Other churches are again being invited to join in one of the two processions, which will converge on the town centre St James.
St Andrew's and St Peter's will start from Newark Street at Antley and walk along Blackburn Road to St James. St James and St Paul's start from St Paul's and walk around a section of the eastern boundary of the parish before heading towards the town centre and St James.
Weather permitting, an open air service will be held in the church grounds to which the public are invited.
If the weather is poor the service will be moved into St James' Church, which can seat 600.
Four bands, which include Accrington Pipe Band and Accrington Salvation Army Band, have been booked to accompany the processions and another band will play the hymns for the open air service.
Other churches and Christian groups are welcome and should telephone either Peter Holden 394496 or Father Simon 399322.
