A NEW high-tech learning centre to help businesses and the unemployed opened its doors this week.
More than £100,000 has been invested in equipment for the Lifetime Learning Centre which has set up at the Globe Centre in Accrington by Enterprise plc.
The centre has five different training suites where courses covering marketing, customer services, business strategy and health and safety will be held.
For information technology more than 50 computer stations have been installed and connected to the Internet.
Training packages will range from basic word processing through to advanced telematics.
"Recent studies into Britain's top companies confirm that the key to their success is the investment they have made in their workforce," said Enterprise chief executive David Taylor.
"Employers who go beyond the immediate needs of the business and develop the skills of their employees are rewarded by improved productivity.
