A CAT missing for more than a week may have exhausted his nine lives, thinks his owner.
Linda Fothergill of Garnett Street, Barrowford, last saw her pet George on Bank Holiday Monday.
At first, she thought his disappearance was the latest in a long list of the tabby's crazy antics.
But George has still failed to put in an appearance and Linda has begun to fear the worst.
She said: "Anything could have happened to him when you consider what he has been up to in the past.
"He once fell in to Pendle Water and the fire brigade had to be called out to rescue him.
"Twice he's been trapped 30ft up a tree and we have had to get a ladder out to bring him down.
"The latest incident was when he came home with a limp. I took him to the vet and was told he'd been shot. I've still got the pellet that was removed.
"All this is quite apart from the fact that he comes home muddy every night. Goodness knows what he gets up to.
"I've been everywhere looking for him - fields, hedges, sheds, outhouses, the lot.
"In the past, he's got on top of wagons so it's possible that he could be in another part of the country!
"He seemed to have quietened down just recently, but then this happened. I just hope he turns up safe and sound."
