HOUSES in the Penwortham area of Preston received a special envelope when their milk was delivered on their doorstep this week.
Milkman George Newsham is looking to raise money for his eight-year-old son Josh, who suffers from cerebal palsy, and has produced leaflets and donation slips for his customers.
Josh needs £6,000 to spend four weeks at the Peto Institute in Hungary where he can be treated by the world's finest doctors.
George's partner, Jill Blackler, is determined for Josh and the family to go to Hungary. She said: "He needs to be given constant attention at specialist hospitals around the world. The only one in England is in London but the overall cost of such a trip is just too much." The family have been working towards the £6,000 figure for a couple of years but keep eating into their savings when they travel to the capital.
"It costs over £1,000 for us to go to London where Josh is one of 20 kids and not receiving the amount of attention he needs.
Jill believes that a trip to eastern Europe will give the family such a lift.
She said: "Spending a month in Hungary will help Josh tremendously. At the moment he needs constant care at all times, hopefully when he's been on the trip he will be able to do some things for himself."
