BY day, Karen Noblet is a Preston bank clerk. By night, she could be a singing sensation wowing television viewers nationwide.
Karen, a cashier at NatWest Bank, in Fishergate, is preparing to be The Beautiful South's Jacqueline Abbott when she takes to the stage in ITV's popular Stars In Their Eyes this Saturday.
The mother-of-two, from Walton-le-Dale, has spent a weekend preparing for her performance on the top-rating show, presented by Matthew Kelly and made by Granada television.
She said: "I had a great time. Everybody at Granada television was fantastic and Matthew Kelly was hilarious.
"I was so nervous at first, but Matthew put us all at our ease."
And when the programme is screened on Saturday evening, the Noblet household will be packed out, with all eyes on the television set.
Karen added: "All my family are coming over to watch it and my daughter is counting down the days until the show is on air. She wants to be Baby Spice!"
But Karen is remaining tight-lipped about whether or not she won the heat. She said: "We really aren't allowed to say anything about it. I'm not even allowed to tell anybody which song I sang."
Helen Heyes, NatWest public relations manager, said: "We are delighted to have such a talented member of staff as part of our team and wish her every success on the programme."
