FOUR women from Blackburn and Haslingden will soon be on the run to help beat cancer.
For the four will be raising money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund when they take part in the Race For Life on Wednesday, July 1.
Sisters Heidi Moore and Penny Hayes, their cousin Ruth Wolstenholme and family friend Deborah Fawcett, are seeking sponsorship to complete the five kilometre course, in Witton Park.
The group decided to sign up for the race because of their personal knowledge of the disease.
Heidi and Penny's mother, well-known historian Mrs Benita Moore, has undergone a double mastectomy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy for breast cancer.
Heidi, who now lives in London, said: "We want to raise as much money as possible for the charity. If we collect £100 each it will be quite a lot."
Anyone wanting to offer sponsorship can contact Heidi on 01706 215914 or Deborah on 01254 392963.
