BLACKBURN Rovers have submitted a planning application to install a giant electronic video screen which could be in place by the start of next season.
The screen, which will be situated between the Darwen End Stand and Walker Steel Stand, is similar to screens already in place at Arsenal's Highbury Stadium and White Hart Lane, the home of Tottenham Hotspurs.
It proves the club have big plans for the ground as well as attracting name players such as Kevin Davies, who signed for a club record £7.25 million from Southampton this week.
Planning applications submitted to Blackburn with Darwen Council reveal that the screen will be 18.5 metres wide and a total of 12.5 metres tall, standing on five-metre high pillars.
Peter Kuit, Blackburn with Darwen Council's assistant director of technical services, said: "The planning application is still in its early stages but if we receive objections it will go before the committee at the end of July.
"However if nobody is against it then a decision could be made a lot earlier."
