ABSEILING 70ft cliffs and canoeing through the Lake District may not be everyone's idea of fun.
But for 20 adventurous souls from Jigsaw, a disabled group of friends and volunteers from Radcliffe, Bury and Prestwich it was the recipe for a perfect weekend.
The group spent the weekend at the Calvert Trust in Keswick, an outdoor activity centre specially adapted to cater for people of all abilities.
Under the eye of trained instructors, they took part in a range of activities from hill walking, abseiling and archery to canoeing, horse riding and pony-trapping.
The trip was made possible thanks to almost £900 donated by Rotary and Rotaract clubs in Ramsbottom, Bury and Tottington West, Irwell Vale and Prestwich and Whitefield.
Rachel McFadian, one of the group leaders, said: "Some of our group are able-bodied, some are in wheelchairs and others have visual impairments.
"But it didn't stop anyone from joining in all the activities. There were a few worried looks when we got to the top of the abseil, but that was just from the volunteers!
"It just goes to show that there are are no limits to what you can do once you put your mind to it - whatever your disability."
Jigsaw, who are part of the Bury and District Disabled Advisory Council, are on the look out for more volunteers to join their group.
