IT IS very disturbing that India has blasted nuclear devices when the world superpowers and other developed countries are working towards dismantling nuclear weapons.
India, as the biggest and perhaps the strongest country of the sub-continent, instead of providing a leadership to gather its three countries together, creating peace and harmony in the region, has opted for brinkmanship.
It is time for the superpowers, together with Britain and other developed countries, to take notice of such serious and dangerous developments in that part of Asia, do something to put a stop to such potential human destruction and make sure that India ceases any further nuclear experiments forthwith.
For the same reason, the sake of humanity, Pakistan should not resort to retaliatory actions, but work together with the rest of the world to stop India going further into nuclear experiments.
With Pakistan given a guarantee of India's abidance of a non-nuclear policy, it will prevent a much more harmful situation from developing.
It is not too late for India to act positively and cease nuclear experiments and thus endow the area with a leadership of peace and harmony.
