ALL the pomp and ceremony of the Last Night of the Proms will be recreated in Blackpool this November.
A Northern Night at the Proms at the Opera House will raise money for local charities and feature the Northern Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
The event has been organised by the Blackpool Sportsman's Aid Society which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities in the past.
John Herdman, event chairman, said: "We thought it was about time Blackpool had an event like this.
"We have the biggest theatre in the North West here and it should be perfect.
"We hope to raise as much money as possible - which we will give away after the show - and have some good fun along the way."
Conductor Raymond Lomax added: "There will be an orchestra of 60 and a choir of 60 on stage so it will be a fantastic spectacle.
"The Northern Symphony Orchestra is made up from the best musicians in the North West who will have played in Blackpool with their own orchestras, but this is the first time we will have played together.
"I think I'm going to have to get some clothes like our mascot Horatio."
Soprano Joanne Rondel and mezzo soprano Judith Tinston will lead the choir and will perform two solos each.
Tickets to the night on November 28 are priced from £18 to £25 and are available at the Opera House box office on 292029.
