TERRY Wynn is a man you'll normally never find lying-down on the job!
But the Euro-MP's latest fact-finding sortee has meant just that because he wants to know: 'When is a double bed not a double bed?'
Terry's quest started when a constituent complained that too many hotels were advertising double beds and only providing U ones.
He's now set in motion enquiries among Europe's hotel, tourist and consumer organisations to get things clarified.
Ant he called in Railway Road's Bed Shop to collect more facts (pictured) - only to be told by manager Ian Cowburn that bed sizes had shrunk since going metric!
"Apparently the bed makers stipulate that a double bed is 6'3"x4'6" and a U bed is 6'x4'. Now I've been told that trhe metric sizes make bed just a touch smaller," said Mr Wynn.
"This will upset my constituent even more."
Mr Wynn added: "Do people have a valid complaint under the Trade Descriptions Act? That's what my constituent wants to know."
He has also contacted local Trading Standards Officers for their opinions.
