WHEN the Lib Dems were the Liberal Party back in the early 70s, we expressed concern at the amount of traffic in Lancaster using the back roads as a rat run, such as Dallas Rd and Ulleswater Rd.
We sent a note to the council asking about the eastern relief road, after all, all the houses in Edward Street were knocked down to make way for it. The council's reply said a small church at the end of Bulk Rd was a listed building so it could not go ahead. Now, after 25 years of it getting much worse, all we've got as a solution is a few humps on the road.
In Bulk ward, we've got three Labour councillors who offer us nothing but a sympathetic ear. We don't want traffic to slow down we want it out of there! Will we ever see the relief road?
Mr Muranyi,
