I READ Mr Weymouth's letter last week (Citizen May 28), knocking the use of pen names. As a pen name myself it is hard to agree with him. I just hope he wasn't talking about me when he mentioned nasty anonymous letters.
What I want to say is that someone has told me that Mr Weymouth might be a friend, political ally and former academic colleague of Cllr Henig. I for one don't believe it. It's not possible. The mere suggestion that a respectable academic could write a supposedly objective letter criticising people for concealing their motives, while concealing a motive of his own, is enough to horrify even the most hardened cynic. No, it simply can't be true.
Mind you it would be interesting if it were true. Most of the letters which friends of Mr Henig might think nasty have been to do with Blobbygate. Might it be that he doesn't find legitimate criticism easy to take? But it can't be true I'm sure Mr Weymouth would have told us if he had an association with Mr Henig.
