LAST night Morecambe Manager Jim Harvey further strengthened his defensive options when the club secured the services of ex Oldham Athletic and Stalybridge Celtic defender David Hall.
Harvey said "David is a player that I first noticed about 4 years ago while he was still with Oldham, and during that time I have to tried to sign him on a couple of occasions, so I am delighted that I have been able to add him on to my squad.
This is another important signing for Morecambe, and will add more quality to our defensive play. Hopefully I will be looking to bring in another couple of quality players before the seasons starts, this coming season is going to be very important for us, and with the two signings we have made hopefully we should be in for a great season"
Hall, a 24 year old became a free agent in may when his club Staylbridge Celtic suffered relegation. David had been a celtic player for three seasons, had previously played a season for Halifax, following five seasons at Oldham Athletic. Whilst at Boundary park David had played for England schoolboys and also had gained England caps at youth level. Hall, who hails from the Oldham area has signed a two year contract. Which will last until the millennium.
