"BRING back the rope" demanded thousands of East Lancashire folk in a staggering response to a Lancashire Evening Telegraph death-penalty phone poll.
Nearly 90 per cent of callers pressed for the restoration of the noose as more than 4,000 people called to make their point.
But Blackburn MP Jack Straw said: "While I respect the views of my constituents, I do not agree with them."
