I AM pleased that the more extreme measures and regulations to ban remaining Category 3 display fireworks on sale to the public have to go through consultation with the House of Lords and Commons before extra legislation can be passed.
This is because it means big barrages, fountains, mines, rockets, setpiece fountains and setpiece wheels, roman cakes and batteries plus wheels can continue to be sold over the counter, and, as a result, families, youth groups, residents' associations and others can continue to put on big spectacular fun displays without the killjoy element spoiling it unfairly.
The dangerous items are now out of circulation because of the new legislation in place, meaning fewer injuries and no more need for horrid, stupid and archaic legislation on fireworks.
