ACTIONAID Week starts today and I will be one of thousands of volunteers placing envelopes in friends' and neighbours' doors, selling raffle tickets, and calling with collection boxes to ask for donations.
I support ActionAid because it helps communities in the Third World get a chance for a better education, health care and access to essential services such as clean water.
Our theme this year is 'One World One Goal.' I am asking readers to help ActionAid achieve its goal in giving some of the poorest families in Africa, Asia and Latin America a chance for a better life. Please give as generously as you can.
R BUTTERWORTH, (Local area co-ordinator for ActionAid), Linden Lea, Blackburn.
