IF you think that newspapers only deal with words and pictures, a group of maths teachers can now tell you that numbers also play a huge part in newspaper production.
Six maths teachers from secondary schools in East Lancashire spent a mind-boggling day, funded by the Teacher Placement Service, finding out how maths is used in all departments of our company.
From accounts and advertising through editorial and marketing to printing and delivery, numbers are used at every stage. And if you want to know more about this, watch out for information and ready made lessons in our maths motivation project, available to schools only through our newspaper in the autumn term.
