POLICE hunting armed robbers who stuck a wages delivery to a Darwen mill switched their search to Manchester.

A Securicor guard was attacked as he delivered the weekly wages to Vernon-Carus in Grimshaw Street. He was badly shaken but escaped serious injury.

More than £9,000 was taken in the raid, which police said had been "well planned'.
