BURNLEY have lined-up pre-season friendlies away to Halifax and Rochdale after kicking-off their preparations in the south-west.
Stan Ternent will take his squad to a training camp at Exeter University where they will spend the best part of a week from July 17 and play two games against non-league sides Dawlish and Elmore in Tiverton.
The Clarets will then face League opposition for the first time when they visit newly promoted Halifax on Saturday, July 25.
Ternent is looking for a first-team fixture on July 28 before taking his side to Rochdale on August 1 - a week before the Second Division programme starts.
Having had little time to sort out a pre-season programme Ternent is satisfied with the package he has put together which will also allow the supporters to make short trips to the two Third Division grounds.
"It will be easy for the fans which we have taken into consideration," said Ternent who will also be lining up games at reserve and under-18 level.
The Exeter trip runs from July 17-22 with the game at Dawlish on Saturday, July 18 and Elmore three days later.
Ternent, who has previously used the university base with Bury, said: "It's got good training facilities which is important to us and it's a nice part of the world to get the lads together for a bit of camaraderie and team spirit to continue our pre-season.
"We will be getting them together, getting them nice and fit and running through our systems."
