ONE thing that probably annoys most people more than anything else is having other people's views forced upon them. The thing that has brought this comment on is the chaos created last week in Dalton Square in Lancaster.
What I want to know is: What right have one group of people to force their views on other groups of people and prevent them going about their lawful business? Surely, this comes under the Criminal Justice Bill. I find it ridiculous and absolutely disgusting that these 'protesters' can block a public road, especially emergency service vehicles.
If someone had died because because the ambulance couldn't get through, then in my eyes the people blocking the highway would be guilty of murder. I suppose they think that's clever.
All these people succeeded in doing was making other groups annoyed. Just 200 people is not a majority in Lancaster is it?
Finally, I have a suggestion to help bring in the Millennium - what about a marathon road race in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. You could incorporate a fun run into it and it could be made into an annual event.
