LANCASHIRE Constabulary has put local youngsters on its 'most wanted' list in a bid to find the area's top young citizens.
The search is now on for boys and girls aged 11-17 to be recognised for their achievements in crime prevention or community safety either at home, in school or the areas where they live. The competition is the first of its type run by the constabulary in conjunction with Lancashire Partnership Against Crime.
Ch Insp Frank Harding said: "We know how young people can suffer from a bad press in certain quarters and one aim of this competition will be to spotlight the good work that youngsters do yet can go unnoticed."
"For instance the are more than 50 School Community Action Teams in the country, all playing a major part in local crime prevention work and we know of other good work by young people which is also worthy of note but unpublicised."
The first prize will be a £1,000 in gift vouchers and a chance to meet Chief Constable Pauline Clare with an all expenses paid trip to Granada Tours in Manchester.
The deadline for the competition is July 10 and entry forms are available at the police stations.
