TWO East Lancashire firms have received a pat on the back for "blowing their own trumpet."
ELTEC chief executive Mark Price praised Ultraframe plc and Airtours after they won Duke of Westminster Awards for 1998.
Outside the area, there is still a lingering belief that East Lancashire's cotton towns have never managed to reverse their decline.
"Here are two diverse enterprises who are waving the flag for all other successful East Lancashire-based companies.
"It is not just enough to create world class businesses, we must also demonstrate those world class standards in every possible way."
