TALENTED eight-years-old Ruth Harrop is on the road to TV stardom. She has won a leading part in an ITV thriller after taking just a few drama classes at the Dimples Model and Casting Agency.
Ruth (pictured), of Plank Lane, Leigh, started attending Sunday sessions at the Charles Street, Leigh, chambers and although she had no previous acting experience her confidence was boosted.
She was asked to make a video audition for the two part Granada film, which will be shown in the autumn, and the casting director found her perfect for the role of "Sally", a main children's part.
Ruth, a pupil at St Michael's, Howe Bridge, has now been accepted on to the books for agency representation and her name will be put forward for other parts.
Owner and director of Dimples, Elaine Monaghan, said: "Ruth is a lovely girl, who until recently had untapped talent. It wasn't until she started attending drama classes that her gift was discovered.
"For anyone with a dream of appearing on TV we strongly suggest that they should attend lessons to gain some experience.
" We have a couple of places available at the Sunday classes which are run by our LAMDA qualified tutor, Mrs Francine Rees."
