STARS of the small screen attracted thousands to line the streets of Leyland for the town's 105th festival.
The Teletubbies and Batman were just a couple of the television characters who brought a splash of colour to the floats as they dodged the wet weather on their way to the main arena at Worden Park.
And when the procession, led by South Ribble Mayor Jim Owen, reached its destination, the entertainment - from rock bands to morris dancers - and children's rides were ready to give the crowd a great welcome.
Despite heavy rain, the crowning of the new Festival Queen, Francesca Slater, and her princess, Danielle Shaw, went without a hitch and President Derek Grimshaw was delighted with the day.
He said: "It went superbly and everyone had a great time. I was particularly proud of the people who took part in the procession because they put a lot of time and effort in to it."
The Royal Lancashire Gymnastic Team entertained the audience with some stunning moves before the famous Vander Brothers wowed the crowd with spectacular dare-devil acrobatics.
More than 10 hours of entertainment kept the visitors going throughout the evening and the spectators enjoyed every minute of it.
Mr Grimshaw said: "It was a great turn out and most people stayed until the end. It was wonderful and I was very proud to be president of such a great day."
